Meal delivery robots known as "Talbots" will be introduced by the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), Talaat, a food delivery service, and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Initially, they will be tested in Cadre Villas in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), a technology park.
Three of the robots will be put into service, moving up to
three kilometers (km) from the Cedre Shopping Center to assist residents of the
gated enclave. In less than 15 minutes, the robots will be able to bring food.
Dubai's technological development is demonstrated with the
release of the Talabots. As communities throughout the world examine the
potential advantages of this cutting-edge technology, this project is
anticipated to bring the use of food delivery robots into the mainstream.
Separately, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president of the UAE, gave his approval to the design of new air taxi stations in Dubai at the World Government Summit 2023.
He stated that Dubai will become the first city in the world
to have a fully developed network of vertiports, vertical takeoff, and landing
hubs when air taxis start flying there in three years.
